Blinding Claws...

Tonight, Steve jumped another FATHER hurdle....that of being injured by his son. He and GP were wrestling when Glendon poked Steve in the eye accidentally. I, being the gracious and compassionate person that I am, responded by laughing and high-fiving Glendon for his tactic. When 5 minutes had passed and Steve was still wincing in pain, I began to think something might be out of the ordinary. His pain is severe and nonsubsiding. We contacted our eye Dr. who advised Steve try to make it through the night and call first thing in the morning. It seems that it is most likely a Corneal Abrasion, which will heal but does need antibiotics to resist infection and scaring.
So here is my hubby, in his cozy pjs - sipping hot cocoa and wearing his shades. We're glad to already be able to laugh about the situation, but do pray for God's healing in this. His timing is perfect....we praise Him that this didn't take place last Thursday or next Thursday, as both precede ministry commitments.

He kind of looks like Tom Cruise in Risky Business - but if he starts dancing in his underwear and sliding across the floor, you might want to get him into the doctor a little earlier :)

Feel better Steve!

I definitely had some laughs on that one...just wait til G turns 5. Wrestling and tackling dad will become a more routine part of the day. I've seen the surprise tactic used many times in our house...so be warned Steve! Get the phone ready Kelly! -n
